Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) was an American performer, actor and dancer. Some of her early Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working with prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is it is a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platforms. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford returns to Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at helm of the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
